A: MyTica.com was created as a unique and different way to help people find a lifemate that they would otherwise probably never meet. It brings together 2 people from different cultures, but with the same needs and desires. Ticas, (Costa Rican Women) seek nice men that are different from the guys they would meet locally. Men (like yourself) that are searching for a special, caring, lovely, and exotic soulmate often find a perfect match in a Tica. Q: Can I view the girls without being a member? A: Our privacy policy prohibits public display of all information (including most profiles and pictures) about our members, male or female. Every girl on MyTica.com has been screened and qualified, and is actively seeking serious relationships with foreign men. These girls are NOT desperate for dates. The difference between MyTica.com and other foreign dating sites, is the quality of our members. We do NOT show the profiles and pictures of our members publicly. Only approved members have access to the other members. This is the agreement we have with our clients. If you have questions about this, please write us at: help@mytica.com. Q: What does it cost? A: If your application is approved, you are charged $57.00 for a one-YEAR membership. As a bonus, 20 Service Credits (redeemable for extra services) are included with your membership. Additional Service Credits can also be purchased within the site, if needed. Q: How do I pay? A: You will be prompted for your credit card during the application process. If you do not have a credit card, you may also pay by check, PayPal, or cash (if you are in Costa Rica). Please email help@mytica.com if you wish to apply without a credit card. We currently accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Novus, Eurocard, Carte Blanche, and Diners' Club. If you wish, you may add additional credit cards in your member area and choose which one to use for charges. Q: How do I cancel my membership? A: Once you have found your dream girl, it is very easy to cancel our service by sending an email to: help@mytica.com. After doing so, we would appreciate if you told all of your single friends about us. They will certainly want to know how you met your beautiful wife! Q: Can I get a refund after cancelling my membership? A: Our merchant bank does not permit credits back to your credit card, except in the case of a mistake. If you don't use the service after signing up, it's your own fault, and we can't give you a refund. If you dispute the charge anyway, or are using someone else's card without their permission, it is our responsibility to submit you and the card to the Internet Merchant Blacklist, whereby you (and the card) will not be able to make purchases at other Internet retailers. Q: What browsers work with your site? A: We have built the site to be perfectly compatible with Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher and AOL 5.0 and higher. Although we try to accomodate other browsers, we cannot guarantee their compatibility, and non-supported browsers and platforms are not cause for refunds. Q: How long does it take for a girl to reply to me? A: Since most of the girls in Costa Rica use Internet Cafes, they often do not get a chance to check their messages every day. Do not be discouraged if it takes a few days for them to answer back. Q: How can I contact you? Q: What is a Service Credit? A: Service Credits are used to pay for additional services on the site, such as language translation of messages and to gain contact privileges to girls. Since these services cost so little, it would be inconvenient to charge your credit card for such small amounts. Instead, Service Credits are purchased in blocks for as little as $0.30 each. You also receive 20 Service Credits when your application is approved, to get you started. Any Service Credits purchased or accumulated will be lost and non-refundable if membership is cancelled or is not renewed. Your account can be suspended if you accumulate negative Service Credits. Q: Who started MyTica.com and why? A: MyTica.com was started by an American Man (Chris) and a Tica (Daniella). We met at the San Jose Airport in Costa Rica, and discovered that we were both searching for the kind of relationship that we found in each other. We also realized that there are many thousands of men and Ticas both searching for what we have. We are now married, with a child, and started MyTica.com to help others find happiness and love as we did. The mission of MyTica.com is to help you too, as we have successfully done for many others. Q: How often are new girls added? A: MyTica.com conducts interviews (in Costa Rica) with an average of 10-15 new women each week. If they are approved, we try to add them to the site as soon as possible. Girls that have partnered with our members are also removed from the site regularly. So, if you see a girl that interests you, don't wait! There may be another member trying to gain her attention. And if you don't see any girls that might fit your profile now, keep checking because they might show up next week! Q: What ages are the girls? A: MyTica.com has girls of all ages, ranging from 18 to 50 years old. You can specify minimum and maximum ages to search for when browsing the girls on the site. Q: What languages do the girls speak? A: While a large percentage of it's residents speak English, Costa Rica is a spanish-speaking country. The girls on MyTica.com have a varied knowledge of English (and also other languages as well). Some speak English fluently, some talk well but have trouble with reading and writing, and some understand very little. Don't be discouraged if a particular girl that catches your eye does not understand English as well as you do. A: Both the men and women that wish to use MyTica.com are screened before being allowed access. MyTica.com does not allow women who are seeking a husband simply for financial gain, and it does not allow men who are looking for a short-term fling either. Submitting a picture is also required to complete the application for both the guys and girls. If you don't have a scanner, we will scan your photo free of charge. Q: Where do you find the girls on your site? A: Most of the women on MyTica.com are referred to us via word-of-mouth from other satisfied members. We also have ongoing local ad campaigns and referral programs to find new girls. Since we are located at the source (San Jose, Costa Rica), we have a distinct advantage over other agencies located elsewhere. Q: How do I get a girl's phone number or address? A: MyTica.com protects the privacy and personal information of both the men and the women. Messages sent between members on the system do not reveal email addresses. Once you have established a trusting relationship with another member, you are free to exchange personal information like phone numbers and email addresses.
